2023 Meet State Move-In Volunteers Greetings! We’re planning a great kick-off to the 2023-2024 Academic Year, and we need your help to make the most of our Meet State events! You probably have your own memories of things like moving into your room, sharing a picnic (and probably SDSU Ice Cream) with family and friends, and taking a campus tour to get oriented to your new surroundings. All of that is part of Meet State! Meet State provides students with a welcoming environment and educational and community building programs to ease the transition to life at SDSU. We want YOU to be a part of creating this welcoming environment as your fellow Jackrabbits “Meet State” on August 18-19, 2023. If you are interested, we suggest you submit the “Meet State Volunteer” form below as soon as able. We hope you’ll choose to be a part of this growing Jackrabbit tradition! What volunteers can expect for a time commitment: Attend a Meet State Volunteer Meeting the week of August 14-17 Assist with First-Year Move-In on Friday, August 18, 7:30am-12:30pm Assist with First-Year Move-In on Friday, August 18, Noon-4:00pm Assist with Returning Student Move-In on Saturday, August 19, 8:30am-1:00pm What volunteers will receive for their participation: Early move-in to campus housing on Thursday, August 17, free of charge (IF ON-CAMPUS RESIDENT) Lunch during work hours on Friday, August 18 (and, pending work hours on Saturday, August 19) Meet State t-shirt (to be worn while volunteering; customizable with volunteer and group name) Positive feeling of helping others and making Meet State a positive experience What student organizations will receive for group volunteer participation: (must have at least FIVE affiliated volunteers working for each of the three move-in periods) Acknowledgment in Meet State publicity materials Acknowledgment (banners, flyers, and/or handouts) in each residence hall during move-in One free advertisement in residence hall digital display boards during Fall Semester 2023 Inclusion on handout encouraging students to visit your group at the August Campus Organizations Festival
